TI-83 Plus Silver
In 2001 Texas Instruments released an update to the older TI-83 Plus and named it the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition. Alrthough very similar in terms of software and applications, the silver edition does have improved hardware including 1.5MB flash memory and 96 KB of additional RAM. Along with better link transfer hardware, the calculator has also had a slight makeover, now featuring a translucent silver case.
With regards to computational power, there is a minimal difference between the TI-83 Plus and the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition. They are fully compatible with eachother, however one issue that has been reported is that games which were designed for the TI-83 Plus may run too fast on the Silver edition.
The TI-83 Plus Silver Edition is currently listed as a discontinued product on the official Texas Instruments website, however it can still be easily purchased new and used from locations such as Ebay or Amazon.
